Frequently Asked Questions

Faculty can contact their Institutional Site Administrator for creating new accounts. Colleges wanting to access EduStream.org will need to contact info@edustream.org to become an Institutional Member. Each institution will designate an Institutional Site Administrator(s) who can then create user accounts for their respective staff and faculty members.
Click on the “ Member Login” button. Then enter your username and password given to you by your Institutional Site Administrator.
Click on "Member Login" and then on "Recover Password." In the event, you have forgotten the required information to retrieve your password, you will need to contact you Institutional Site Administrator who can reset your password or remind you of your username. Institutional Site administrators will have to contact EduStream at helpdesk@edustream.org to reset their password.

There are two ways to search for videos in the repository: through the Browser page and the Text Search located on the top of every page.
Each institution is able to view media that they have been authorized for. This is done for copyright reasons as other institutions may have proprietary content that they are not authorized to distribute to others.
In the “My Playlist” category click on the “Add New Playlist” option and give it a unique name.
First you must create a Playlist (See "How do I create a Playlist?"). Then click on the "Add to My Playlist" link.

As long as faculty has signed up with EduStream through their Institutional Administrator the can view their fellow faculty's videos. (Default setting is that uploaded content is private and cannot be shared).

The default setting is that all content is private.

To enable close captions in Windows Media Player, right click on the media player and choose "Play" then choose "Lyrics, Captions and Subtitles" then choose Captions.
At this time faculty uploaded videos are converted to Flash and do not contain any close captioning.
Make sure the mute on your computer's sound device is not on. If audio is still not present, please contact your local support desk for help.
The upload limit at this time is 100mb.

You may be attempting to watch the material at a higher bandwidth than you Internet connection currently supports. To change the speed at which the Windows Media Player attempts to download content, please follow these steps:
  • Start Windows Media Player
  • On the Tools menu, select "Options."
  • Click the "Performance" tab.
  • In the "My connection speed is" box, choose detect my connection speed (recommended). Click "OK."
